How a tweet ID stores its date
Since November 4, 2010, X has generated post IDs with Snowflake, a 64-bit format whose first 41 bits are a timestamp. The remaining 22 bits identify the datacenter, the worker and a per-millisecond sequence number.

How do I find the date of a tweet from its ID?
Paste the post ID or link above. Since November 4, 2010, every X post ID is a Snowflake ID: shifting it right by 22 bits gives the milliseconds since Twitter’s epoch (1288834974657), which converts to the exact posting time.
How accurate is the time?
To the millisecond. The time is written into the ID when the post is created, so it does not depend on the post still being online or on your X account.
Does it work for deleted or protected posts?
Yes. The date comes from the ID itself, so it works even if the post was deleted, the account is protected, or the link no longer opens.
Why does an old tweet show “not a Snowflake ID”?
Posts from before November 4, 2010 use older sequential IDs that carry no timestamp. For those, open the post on X or look it up through an API.
Can I convert a date into a tweet ID?
Yes. Pick a UTC range in the second panel to get since_id and max_id values. X search accepts them as operators, which is a precise way to search posts between two moments.
